Everything You Need to Know

For many people, hiring a marquee is not something they have done before, so it’s natural to have questions about the process. To make things easier, we’ve answered some of the most common queries below. However, if you need more details or have specific concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our team is always happy to offer advice and ensure your marquee hire experience is smooth and stress-free.

We recommend booking your marquee as far in advance as possible. We tend to get booked up during the summer months, so the more notice you can give us, the more likely we will be able to accommodate your event.

Yes, we do, particularly for private events or locations where we haven’t worked before. If it is a venue we have worked at previously, a site visit may not be required. However, if you would like us to come and meet you to discuss the marquee hire in more detail, we will be more than happy to do so. We do not charge for site visits.

From our base in Battle, East Sussex, our primary service area stretches from Worthing in the West to Dover in the East, and up to Dartford in the North. However, we’re always happy to quote for and provide our services beyond this area for select events — just get in touch to discuss your location.

All of our marquees are what are known as Clearspan. This means the structure has no internal poles or supports. Our structures come in four main widths: 3 meters, 6 meters, 9 meters, and 12 meters. They are built in 3-meter increments, with each 3-meter section often referred to as “a bay.” The length can be as long as needed on all widths.

The size of the marquee required depends on a number of factors, with the main one being the number of guests you are expecting. We can design a layout around your specific requirements and work with you to create the perfect space for your event.

Not at all. Although the majority of our builds take place on grass, with Clearspan marquees, we are not limited to grass surfaces. We can build structures on hard surfaces such as tennis courts, car parks, and patios, to name a few.

Not necessarily. If you have a particularly uneven site or want the marquee to span multiple levels, we can often accommodate complex builds and offer solutions for most site conditions.

We usually set up the marquee between one and three days prior to your event and take it down one to two days afterward. We can be flexible with this and work with you to accommodate your needs. Venues often have specific time frames, and we are experienced in working within those constraints to ensure your marquee is set up and delivered on time.

After your initial enquiry, we usually provide you with a first draft quote. This will give you an idea of what we can offer and the associated prices. If you’re happy with the quote, we will arrange a site visit. Following this, we can make any necessary adjustments to the quote and provide detailed CAD drawings so you can visualize the marquee layout. To secure the booking, we require a 10% deposit, with the balance due 7 days prior to setup.
We offer a wide range of equipment to support your event, including furniture, dance floors, stages, generators, toilets, heating, tableware, linen, and refrigeration, to name just a few. If there’s something specific you need, just ask — we’re always happy to help.

Absolutely! We cater for events all year round. There’s something quite magical about a winter wedding — a touch of frost or snow can create a beautiful, atmospheric backdrop. All of our marquees are suitable for year-round use. We can include hard flooring, door sets, and heating to keep your guests warm and comfortable, whatever the weather.

Yes, in many cases we can. Thanks to the flexibility of the Clearspan marquees we use, we’re often able to build around features like flower beds or small trees. In fact, incorporating natural elements inside your marquee can create a unique and stunning setting. Take a look at our gallery to see how we’ve creatively worked around obstacles in past builds.

Unfortunately, marquees are not licensed venues, so you cannot legally marry inside one. However, many couples choose to complete the legal ceremony at a registry office or licensed venue a few days before their celebration. You can then have a celebrant-led ceremony at your chosen location — whether that’s inside the marquee, in a woodland setting, an open field, or even on a beach. This option gives you the freedom to personalise the ceremony exactly how you want, in a place that’s meaningful to you.
